Suddath Relocation Systems Promotes Demont to President

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA, August 7, 2003 -- The Suddath Companies, a leading provider of global transportation and relocation related services, announced today that it has promoted Michael E. Demont to President of its core subsidiary, Suddath Relocation Systems.

"Mike is an outstanding leader and has done an excellent job implementing new processes and procedures that have made our Company much more profitable, professional and structured," said Barry S. "Mike also oversees our Company’s complex Risk Management Department and is leading a company-wide initiative to expand our services into other markets," Vaughn added.

Demont began his career with Suddath in 1996 as Vice President of the Company’s Mayflower Transit subsidiary, American Heritage Relocation Systems. He was subsequently promoted to Chief Executive Officer of Data Storage Centers (another Suddath subsidiary) where he guided the company to record growth prior to its very successful sale to Iron Mountain. In 2001, he was promoted to Senior Vice President for Suddath Relocation Systems where he took over the daily management of operations for Suddath’s 16 branch subsidiaries located throughout the United States. As President he will continue to lead Suddath in the growth of all its companies and services, including an emphasis on commercial moving and logistics services.

A graduate of The University of Florida College of Law, Demont still serves as an active member of The American Bar Association, The Florida Bar Association, The Jacksonville Bar Association, and The Chester Bedell Inn of Court.

Demont’s promotion represents another component of Suddath’s strategic succession plan, designed to strengthen the executive management structure and ensure the future success of The Suddath Companies.
