Suddath Announces Scholarship Award Winner
JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA, September 23, 2002 – In keeping with their
commitment to education, The Suddath Companies today announced that Dawid
Bednarek has been selected as the recipient of The Richard H. Suddath
Scholarship award for 2002.
The Richard H. Suddath Scholarship is presented annually to a graduating high
school senior who is the dependent of an active, full time employee or
independent contractor of The Suddath Companies. This scholarship provides full
tuition, fees, and the cost of books for four years of academic study at a state
college or university.
Dawid is the son of Tom Bednarek who is a continental van operator for Suddath’s
Los Angeles, California branch. Dawid graduated from McNeil High School in June
with a 4.2 grade point average. He was active in Spirit Blazers, a service
community organization, and STARS, students who work with special education
students, as well as being the team captain for the football and baseball teams.
He will attend Weatherford College in Weatherford, Texas and is planning to
major in business.
Dawid is the twelfth recipient of the Richard H. Suddath Scholarship, which was
established upon Richard Suddath’s retirement as Chairman of the Board in 1989,
to honor his many years of leadership, training and dedication to the employees
of The Suddath Companies.
