Suddath Promotes Barry Vaughn to COO
JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA, January 15, 2002 - The Suddath
Companies, a leading provider of transportation and relocation-related services
worldwide, today announced that they have promoted Barry S. Vaughn to Chief
Operating Officer of the Suddath Companies effective January 1, 2002. He also
will continue in his responsibilities as President of Suddath Relocation
Systems, which is a leading provider of household goods moving and relocation
services.
"Suddath has had in place a succession plan to ensure the
continued success, quality and growth of the company," remarked Steve Suddath,
Chief Executive Officer of The Suddath Companies. "A key element of that plan is
now being implemented with the appointment of Barry Vaughn as COO."
Mr. Suddath further commented, "Barry has been an integral part
of the evolution of The Suddath Companies and this promotion is recognition of
his many talents and expansive knowledge of our company and industry. I'm

In his new post, Mr. Vaughn will oversee the day-to-day
operations and be responsible for driving the overall projected growth of all
subsidiaries of The Suddath Companies. These include Suddath Relocation Systems,
Suddath International, Suddath Transportation Services, Suddath Military Group,
Lexicon Relocation and Centra Worldwide.
Mr. Vaughn has over 27 years of service with Suddath, joining
the company in 1974. He quickly moved up through the ranks to the position of
Vice President of Branch Operations, Suddath Relocation Systems. After
consistently demonstrating exceptional leadership capabilities, he became
Executive Vice President in 1989. In this position, Mr. Vaughn was instrumental
in the expansion of their branch offices throughout the United States. In 1998,
he was promoted to President, managing a business unit with over $100 million in
annual revenue.

He is a member of the AMSA and serves as a Board member for the following
entities: the Jacksonville Disaster Recovery and Hurricane Relief Task Force,
Downtown Vision, Inc. (and Executive Committee), the University Club of
Jacksonville, as well as The Suddath Companies. He resides in Jacksonville with
his wife Patty and has two sons Eric and Kevin.
