Suddath Relocation Systems
Acquires
Maryland Moving Company
JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA, May 8, 2001 – Suddath Relocation Systems, a
Jacksonville-based company that ranks among the largest corporate relocation
service providers in the country, announced an agreement today to acquire
American Security Corporation, a United Van Lines agent, with two offices in the
Baltimore and Washington DC metropolitan areas.
Barry S. Vaughn, president of Suddath Relocation Systems, confirmed the
transaction, citing the consolidation trend in the moving industry and the
company’s growth strategy.
"Suddath is very excited about this opportunity for us to be a part of
two of the most dynamic domestic and international markets in the United
States," said Vaughn. "American Security enjoys an outstanding
reputation here, and we have had a strong working relationship for years. We are
very excited about combining our resources to offer a wide range of services to
our customer base within these markets."
In the announcement, Suddath also pointed out their eagerness to retain all
American Security employees and contractors, stating that all have been invited
to join Suddath, and all American Security original hire dates will be honored.
