SUDDATH DIVISION AWARDED DOD FULL SERVICE MOVING PROJECT
Jacksonville, Florida, September 6, 2000 -- Scott Kelly, Vice President of
Suddath Relocation Systems' military division, announced today the company was
awarded a unique contract by the U.S. Department of Defense to provide on-site
move management and relocation services for all outbound DoD movements from
Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota, beginning in late November 2000.
The contract won by Suddath, called the Full Service Moving Project (FSMP),
was made available to the entire moving and relocation services industry.
Suddath Relocation Systems was one of only six large businesses to be awarded a
contract, which outsources to Suddath move management and relocation services
for over 2,500 domestic and international moves annually. In addition to full
relocation services, the contract entails entitlement counseling to relocating
military members as well as providing full service moving and storage.
"This is the first time the Department of Defense has awarded such a
contract and we look forward to offering our extensive line of relocation
services to these Department of Defense customers," stated Kelly. "We
would like to compliment Robin Baldwin, Contracting Officer for the FSMP, and
her team members for their professional approach to this innovative program. We
look forward to a successful implementation." The FSMP's goal is to
outsource services provided by the transportation office and offer military
customers a better quality of life by providing them with commercially oriented
relocation services.
