Relocation pioneers

We never rest on our laurels. Since our beginning in 1919, Suddath Relocation Systems has expanded through the acquisition of other moving and storage operations, as well as the start-up of service center locations in major markets across the country.

In the mid 1960s, Suddath^® added seven southeast branch locations and soon formed international ties by adding strategic international agent partners who guarantee our same premier quality standards on every shipment.

Becoming a leader

In 1981, Suddath joined forces with United Van Lines, the nation's largest carrier. Suddath is currently the largest agent out of more than 400, generating more than $380 million annually with superior quality scores industry wide. Suddath is unique because although we are part of United, we do not rely on other agents and contractors to serve the needs of our clients. With a fleet of more than 1,300 units and 1,700 employees, Suddath can meet the needs of our clients with our vans, our equipment and our employees. We are a van line within a van line.

During the last years of the new millennium, Suddath grew from being a $200 million plus company to more than $380 million, expanded into three new strategic moving and storage locations (San Jose, Maryland/DC and Charlotte) and entered into several new business lines including hospitality services and portable storage containers. In January of 2011 we acquired Barrett Moving & Storage and added locations in Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota. Most recently we added a location in Seattle, WA with the acquisition of City Moving Systems.

In addition to expanding our reach with more locations, Suddath is committed to searching for innovative approaches to better serve our clients. We can proudly boast that we were the first company to launch the only free moving app available on both the iPhone and Blackberry smartphones, as well as one of the first to offer custom client portals for relocating transferees.

Eyes on the future

To accomplish sustained growth, Suddath continues to look for acquisition opportunities to increase our position in the moving industry and provide additional coverage and added capacity for our clients. All of our employees believe in a proactive approach to serving our clients. In today's competitive climate, Suddath understands the need to outdo and outlast our competitors.
